Ma Muang Smoothie
Serves 1 Cooks in 5 minutes Difficulty EASY
My mango smoothie is a more healthy version of my mango shake. I posted my mango shake recipe a year ago and it is one of my most popular posts.
This mango smoothie recipe does not use syrup. I used normal natural yoghurt but you can use low fat yoghurt if you wish.
You can also add a little ginger (around one teaspoon, finely chopped) if you want extra flavour and a little spicy kick.
If you have a choice of mangos try to get a large one, soft and golden in colour. In Thailand we have many types of mango, the one I use is called Ma Muang Nam Doc Mai. Translated the meaning would be juicy and sweet smelling.
Ingredients
- 1 yellow mango
- 1 pot of natural yoghurt
- Pinch of salt
- 10ml honey
- 1 glass of crushed ice
Method
- Peel the skin off the mango and chop into small pieces.
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth.
To Serve
Pour into a large glass. You can garnish the smoothie with a couple of sweet basil leaves or basil flowers.

Hi Apple,
Hope you are keeping well. I love reading your monthly recipes.
Your mango smoothie looks delicious but I cannot read the method as the pictures cover it up. Can you have a look and maybe send it again. Can’t wait until we come to Khao Lak again next year.
Best regards
