Apple from Riverside Thai Cooking

A Warm Welcome to my Khao Lak Thai Cooking Class

Hi, my name is Apple and I would love to show you some of the secrets of Thai cooking at my Khao Lak Thai cooking class. I have created a cosy kitchen overlooking the river not too far from Khao Lak’s town centre.

I learnt to cook food the traditional way, helping my Mama in the kitchen from an early age. I have also run a popular Thai restaurant and more recently I cook daily for my guests at popular guest house.

I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing my experience of cooking Thai food. Even if you are a beginner in the kitchen, please don’t worry. After a few hours you will be able to prepare and cook your favourite Thai dish and most importantly, we will enjoy eating together when we are done.

This is How My Thai Cooking Class Goes

Market Tour to Source Ingredients

Our Thai cooking class starts at the local Khao Lak market. Here we will choose the ingredients for your Thai dishes, learn about Thai herbs and spices and catch a glimpse of the daily hustle and bustle of local market life.

Preparing and Cooking Our Dishes

This is where the fun really begins as I teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal.

Once we are done cooking I will show you how to garnish and present your meal. Then we all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this.

I often get asked if I can teach Mango with Sticky Rice and Coconut Milk. So often in fact that I have decided to add it to my Khao Lak Thai cooking class menu.

Some Important Information About My Thai Cooking Class

Presentation and Food Carving

After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more important step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. We need to present it in an appetising manner and I will even show you some simple food carving tricks too.

My Environmental Committment

All the fresh ingredients I use for my Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from our daily market. I do not shop with plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which I use in my herb garden at Riverside.

Small Class Sizes

I like the saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” and I have always kept this in mind when I started my Thai cooking class. So you get the most out of the time you spend cooking with me, I limit my class size to six cooks.
