A Warm Welcome to my Khao Lak Thai Cooking Class
Hi, my name is Apple and I would love to show you some of the secrets of Thai cooking at my Khao Lak Thai cooking class. I have created a cosy kitchen overlooking the river not too far from the town centre.
I learnt to cook food the traditional way, helping my Mama in the kitchen from an early age. I have also run a popular Thai restaurant and more recently I cook daily for my guests at my popular guest house.
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing my experience of cooking Thai food. Even if you are a beginner in the kitchen, please don’t worry. After a few hours you will be able to prepare and cook your favourite Thai dish and most importantly, we will enjoy eating together when we are done.

This is How My Thai Cooking Class Goes
Market Tour to Source Ingredients
Our Thai cooking class starts at the local Khao Lak market. Here we will choose the ingredients for your Thai dishes, learn about Thai herbs and spices and catch a glimpse of the daily hustle and bustle of local market life.
Preparing and Cooking Our Dishes
This is where the fun really begins as I teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal.
Enjoy the Thai Banquet You Created
Once we are done cooking I will show you how to garnish and present your meal. Then we all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this.
What You Will Learn to Cook
Some Thai cooking classes have fixed daily menus but I am much more happy for you to choose your own favourite Thai dish to cook.
Each guest can choose their particular favourite from my extensive menu. This means you also get to learn what the others are cooking too.
If your favourite Thai dish doesn’t feature on my menu contact me and let me know what you would like to learn. This is your class after all.
Spring Rolls are Always Included
Learning to make Thai spring rolls is always a firm favourite with my guests and they are often requested. Rather than take up one of your choices I include spring rolls as our appetiser for free with every class.
I have a special recipe for my spring rolls. I can not say more here as it’s a secret ingredient that makes them extra spicy and tasty. If you have made spring rolls before we can always try different ways to prepare the fillings. Spinach and cheese is one of my favourites.
For children we can make pizza style fillings. They are delicious and kids just love them!
Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free
Thai cuisine offers many delicious options for vegetarians and vegans. I have included a few on my menu but I can also adapt other Thai dishes to suit your requirements.
If you have a gluten allergy, do not worry there is plenty of gluten free Thai food for you.
I will also include my free recipe for a vegan alternative to fish sauce, one of the core ingredients used in Thai cooking.
Thai Cooking Classes For Children
I often get asked if my cooking classes are suitable for children and the answer is a simple and honest YES. Children are more than welcome at my Khao Lak Thai cooking class.
It’s a great pleasure to teach children about food. After all that is how I learnt to cook, as a child helping my mother.
Some Important Information About My Thai Cooking Class
Presentation and Food Carving
After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. We need to present it in an appetising manner and I will even show you some simple food carving tricks too.
My Environmental Commitment
All the ingredients I use for my Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from our daily market. I do not shop with plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which I use in my herb garden at Riverside.
Small Class Sizes
I like the saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” and I have always kept this in mind when I started my Thai cooking class. So you get the most out of the time you spend cooking with me, I limit my class size to six cooks.
Free Recipe to accompany the Thai dish you learn to cook with me
After your Thai cooking class I will add you to my mailing list and send you more wonderful Thai recipes and cooking tips. Your Thai cooking education does not stop once you leave Riverside….
